The NCW chairperson cautions against misuse of 498A, Chennai HC calls dowry laws `the most misused', and according to the Telegraph, Kolkata (7th July, 2008), the govt. finally admits something is wrong with these laws, and agrees to review those. The tide is turning! And yes, there is no such thing as `gender based violence', there is only violence, and is always unacceptable. As in other countries, our DV law needs to be rewritten in gender neutral terms, and it will soon be! seems like a mistimed article!
