Many people were clamoring Hillary to dump Bill after his escapade in the White House. Yet she chose to stay in the marriage. Many people are disappointed because she chose not to leave him. What people do not realize that relationships are quite complex and there is a lot of give n take involved. Eventually what made Hillary forgive Bill is something known only to her.
So it is quite pertinent here to re-quote your dilemma: "Even though my husband is quite the feminist and believes in gender equality, at times he has requested me to keep some of my feminist ideas out of the relationship because they can become a barrier. Yes, the personal is political, but sometimes we may have to leave politics at the front door if we want to continue to have a partner to come home to."
Feminism is about empowering women and ending discrimination then that's alright to me but if it becomes a tool to portray all men as perpetrators of crimes against women and all women as hapless victims then that is wrong.
